TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Governing Law: Republic of Cyprus
Company: Rentamania Ltd

These Terms and Conditions form part of the Rental Agreement between the renter and Rentamania Ltd. By signing the Rental Agreement, accepting the vehicle, taking possession of the keys, or using the vehicle, the renter confirms that these Terms and Conditions are accepted and binding.

1. DEFINITIONS

1.1. "Agreement" means the Rental Agreement, these Terms and Conditions, the reservation details, inspection records, photographs, payment authorisations, signed forms, annexes, notices and any supplementary rental documents provided by Rentamania Ltd.

1.2. "Renter", "You" or "Your" means the customer, payer, authorised driver, co-signer, or any person who accepts, uses, possesses or operates the Vehicle.

1.3. "Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" means Rentamania Ltd.

1.4. "Authorised Driver" means only a person expressly approved by Rentamania Ltd and listed or accepted by Rentamania Ltd as authorised to drive the Vehicle.

1.5. "Vehicle" means the rented car, scooter, motorcycle, moped, buggy, ATV/UTV or any replacement/substitute vehicle, including keys, key fobs, documents, tools, accessories, tyres, wheels, equipment and any installed GPS/telematics device.

1.6. "Damage" includes any physical, mechanical, electrical, cosmetic, interior, underbody, tyre, wheel, glass, suspension, engine, gearbox, clutch, key, document, contamination, water, salt, sand, towing, recovery, inspection, loss-of-use damage or related cost.

1.7. "Asphalt Road" means a public road covered with asphalt/tarmac suitable for normal road vehicles. Any dirt, gravel, sand, stone, rock, beach, salt lake, field, agricultural, construction, coastal, forest, mountain or non-asphalt surface is not an Asphalt Road.

1.8. "Off-road" / "Unpaved Surface" means any surface that is not an Asphalt Road, regardless of whether it appears on a navigation application, is used by local vehicles, is marked by tourist signs, leads to a tourist attraction, or appears passable.

2. RENTAL TERMS

2.1. This Agreement is for the temporary rental and use of the Vehicle.

2.2. The Vehicle remains the property of Rentamania Ltd or its lawful owner at all times.

2.3. No ownership rights are transferred to the renter.

2.4. No warranty of fitness for a particular purpose is given beyond the normal rental use of the Vehicle on public Asphalt Roads and in accordance with this Agreement.

2.5. Rentamania Ltd may refuse, suspend, terminate or cancel the rental if the renter breaches this Agreement, provides false information, fails to complete payment or deposit requirements, misuses the Vehicle, or creates risk to the Vehicle, the Company, third parties or the public.

3. VEHICLE CONDITION, USE AND RETURN

3.1. The renter must return the Vehicle in the same condition as received, except for normal wear and tear, on the agreed date, time and place.

3.2. Additional charges may apply for:

  • excess dirt, sand, mud, salt, pet hair or staining requiring cleaning or detailing;
  • smoking or vaping inside the Vehicle;
  • fuel shortage;
  • missing accessories, documents, keys or equipment;
  • unreported damage;
  • late return;
  • unauthorised return location;
  • excess mileage;
  • traffic fines, parking fines, tolls, penalties and administrative costs.

3.3. Prohibited Use of Vehicle — Asphalt Roads Only

Use of any Vehicle, except for specifically approved off-road buggies and ATV/UTV vehicles, is permitted only on Asphalt Roads. Any use on any unpaved or off-road surface is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited surfaces include, without limitation: dirt roads, gravel roads, beaches, forest paths, mountain trails, dry riverbeds, fields, salt lakes, coastal tracks, rocky areas, sand, mud, construction roads, agricultural tracks, non-asphalt parking tracks, access tracks and any other surface not covered by asphalt/tarmac.

If the asphalt road ends, the renter must stop and turn around immediately. A maximum of 15 metres beyond the end of asphalt is allowed only where strictly necessary to perform a safe turn-around. Driving further than 15 metres beyond the asphalt constitutes an off-road violation.

Additionally, entry into the following areas is prohibited without prior written approval: Akamas Nature Park, Blue Lagoon, Fontana Amorosa, Lara Beach, White River Beach, Avakas Gorge, Adonis Baths, Akrotiri, Ladies Mile, Cavo Greco, Sea Caves / Agios Georgios coastal tracks, Geronisos / Cape Drepano coastal tracks, beaches, salt lakes, as well as any occupied territories including Northern Cyprus.

Fixed penalty per off-road / prohibited area violation:
€300 for scooters, mopeds and motorcycles.
€450 for standard passenger cars, hatchbacks, saloons and similar vehicles, including vehicles such as Nissan March, Nissan Note, Mitsubishi Mirage and similar class vehicles.
€600 for SUV, crossover, Class G/F, Minivan, MPV, Class I, 7-seater, 8-seater, premium, high-value or larger vehicles, including vehicles such as Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Serena, Toyota Sienta and similar class vehicles.

Additional off-road distance charge after the 15-metre turn-around allowance:
€10 per started kilometre for scooters, mopeds and motorcycles.
€20 per started kilometre for standard passenger cars.
€30 per started kilometre for SUV, crossover, Minivan, MPV, Class I, 7-seater, 8-seater, premium, high-value or larger vehicles.

Each separate entry into a prohibited area, each separate off-road route, each separate geofence event, or each repeated violation may be treated as a separate violation and charged separately.

Violation of these restrictions may also result in full liability for damage, voidance of insurance coverage, loss of CDW protection, immediate termination of the rental, repossession of the Vehicle, towing/recovery charges, garage inspection charges, loss-of-use charges and additional security pre-authorisation.

3.4. No Parking Exception Unless Approved by Rentamania Ltd. For the purposes of this Agreement, the rule is simple: the Vehicle must remain on Asphalt Roads only.

3.5. Navigation Applications and Road Signs. The renter remains responsible for complying with this Agreement even if Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, hotel staff, local signs, tourist signs, online reviews, local drivers, local residents or any other source suggests or indicates a route. Navigation instructions do not override this Agreement. If the road is not asphalt, the renter must not enter it, except for the 15-metre safe turn-around allowance stated above.

3.6. Garage Inspection After Off-Road / Prohibited Use. Following any off-road use, prohibited area entry, non-asphalt driving, beach/sand/salt/mud/stone exposure, underbody impact, warning light, unusual noise or suspected damage, Rentamania Ltd may submit the Vehicle to a garage, mechanic, service station or inspection facility for assessment.

3.7. The renter shall be liable for all garage inspection, diagnostic, lifting, cleaning, photo report, transport, staff time, recovery, towing and repair costs arising from or connected with prohibited use. Any garage/mechanic report, invoice, estimate, photograph, GPS record or inspection note may be used to assess damage and recover costs from the renter. These amounts are payable in addition to any fixed penalty.

3.8. Transfer of Risk and Responsibility. All risks and full financial responsibility for the Vehicle remain with the renter until the Vehicle, all keys and documents are physically inspected and accepted by an authorised representative of Rentamania Ltd at the designated return location. Liability transfers back to Rentamania Ltd only after official acceptance by our representative.

3.9. Unauthorised Return / Wrong Return Location / Abandonment. Returning, leaving, parking or abandoning the Vehicle at any location or in any manner other than the agreed return location and method is prohibited. This applies regardless of whether the Vehicle is left at a hotel, airport, street, public car park, private car park, accommodation, roadside, third-party premises or any other location.

3.10. Any unauthorised return, wrong-location return, abandonment, unattended drop-off or failure to return the Vehicle at the agreed return location is subject to an immediate contractual penalty of €300 per incident, in addition to all actual costs and all other applicable charges.

3.11. Actual Recovery / Relocation Costs. In addition to the €300 unauthorised return penalty, the renter shall pay all actual and operational costs, including but not limited to:

  • fuel used for recovery or relocation — actual cost;
  • staff time — €20 per hour per staff member;
  • vehicle operating wear / relocation mileage — €1.00 per kilometre;
  • taxi, bus, parking, towing, storage, ferry, access, police, locksmith or third-party costs — actual cost;
  • administrative fee — €25 per external invoice, third-party case or authority communication.

3.12. Keys, Keyless Fobs, Remote Controls and Documents. The renter must return all keys, keyless fobs, remote controls and documents directly to Rentamania Ltd staff or to an authorised representative in the agreed manner.

3.13. The simple fact of non-return of any key, keyless fob or remote control at the end of the rental is subject to a fixed contractual penalty of €450 per key/fob/remote, even if the item is later found or returned. This penalty is in addition to replacement, programming, immobiliser re-coding, lock-set replacement, towing, call-out, staff time, delivery, recovery and loss-of-use costs.

3.14. Replacement key/fob cost, programming, immobiliser re-coding, lock-set replacement or manufacturer/dealer costs may be charged at actual cost if higher than any indicative amount in the Annexes.

3.15. Responsibility Until Physical Repossession. The renter remains liable for the Vehicle, all risks and all charges until the Vehicle and all keys are physically received by Rentamania Ltd or its authorised agent, regardless of where the Vehicle was left.

3.16. Loss of Use. If the Vehicle is unavailable due to damage, prohibited use, unauthorised return, abandonment, missing keys, police involvement, recovery, inspection or repair, loss of use may be charged at the daily rental rate or €75 per day, whichever is higher, until the Vehicle is recovered, inspected, repaired and returned to service.

3.17. One-Way Drop Without Approval. Unauthorised one-way drop is subject to the €300 unauthorised return penalty under Section 3.10, in addition to actual recovery, relocation, staff, fuel, wear, third-party, administrative and loss-of-use costs.

4. VEHICLE SUBSTITUTION / REPLACEMENT VEHICLE

4.1. Rentamania Ltd may provide a vehicle of the same class, similar class, higher class, lower class with price adjustment, or another vehicle accepted by the renter at handover.

4.2. If the renter inspects, accepts, takes possession of, receives keys for, or uses a substitute or replacement vehicle, such conduct confirms acceptance of the amended vehicle details.

4.3. If an updated signature link is sent but not signed, the renter's acceptance, possession and use of the substituted Vehicle shall still confirm acceptance of the substitution, unless the renter immediately rejects the Vehicle before use and returns the keys to Rentamania Ltd.

4.4. All other terms and conditions of the signed Agreement remain fully valid and binding after any vehicle substitution.

5. MAINTENANCE, ACCIDENTS AND DAMAGE

5.1. The renter must take reasonable care of the Vehicle, drive carefully, comply with the law and avoid any use that may damage the Vehicle.

5.2. The renter must immediately stop using the Vehicle and contact Rentamania Ltd if any warning light, overheating, abnormal noise, tyre issue, fluid leak, collision, mechanical issue or safety issue occurs.

5.3. All accidents, collisions, theft, vandalism, third-party damage or police matters must be reported immediately to Rentamania Ltd and, where applicable, to the police. Failure to report may void insurance and CDW protection.

5.4. The renter is liable for:

  • damage not covered by insurance or CDW;
  • insurance excess / deductible;
  • damage caused by prohibited use;
  • loss of use;
  • diminished value;
  • administrative handling;
  • garage inspection and diagnostic costs;
  • recovery, towing, storage and inspection costs;
  • third-party costs and claims;
  • repair costs exceeding any indicative amount in the Annexes.

6. INSURANCE, CDW AND LIABILITY

6.1. The Vehicle is insured for third-party liability as required by Cyprus law, subject to the terms, exclusions and conditions of the applicable insurance policy.

6.2. Optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), if purchased, is not full insurance and does not remove all liability. CDW only limits certain eligible bodywork damage subject to the agreed excess/deductible and all exclusions.

6.3. Unless otherwise stated in the reservation, the CDW excess/deductible is €300.

6.4. CDW and insurance do not cover, and the renter remains fully liable for:

  • damage caused by off-road, unpaved, non-asphalt, beach, dirt, gravel, salt lake, sand, mud, rocks or prohibited area use;
  • damage caused by entry into Akamas, Adonis Baths, Avakas Gorge, Akrotiri, Ladies Mile, Cavo Greco, Lara Beach, White River Beach, Sea Caves / Agios Georgios coastal tracks, Geronisos / Cape Drepano coastal tracks, Northern Cyprus or any other prohibited area without written approval;
  • damage caused by unauthorised drivers;
  • damage caused while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication affecting driving ability;
  • reckless driving, racing, excessive speeding, dangerous driving or deliberate misuse;
  • tyres, wheels, rims, hubcaps and punctures;
  • windscreen, windows, glass, mirrors and lights unless expressly covered;
  • roof, underbody, sump, oil pan, exhaust, catalytic converter, protective panels, floor, chassis and suspension damage;
  • engine, gearbox, clutch, drivetrain, overheating, wrong fuel, oil starvation or fluid contamination;
  • water damage, salt damage, sand damage, mud damage or contamination;
  • interior damage, stains, burns, seat damage, upholstery damage, trim damage and excessive dirt;
  • keys, fobs, documents, plates, accessories or equipment;
  • towing, recovery, storage, inspection and loss-of-use costs;
  • damage occurring after unauthorised return or abandonment;
  • damage not reported immediately to Rentamania Ltd and, where required, to police.

6.5. In any excluded case, the renter is fully liable for all damages, third-party claims, recovery, towing, inspection, storage, legal costs, administrative costs and loss of use.

7. CHARGES, DEPOSIT AND CARD-ON-FILE / MIT

7.1. Charges payable by the renter include, but are not limited to:

  • daily rental rate;
  • optional equipment and extras;
  • delivery, collection, out-of-hours and location fees;
  • traffic fines, parking fines, tolls and penalties;
  • cleaning, fuel, damage, excess mileage and late return charges;
  • late return fixed penalty, hourly late return charges and unapproved extension charges;
  • contractual penalties, including off-road and prohibited area penalties;
  • off-road distance charges;
  • unauthorised return / wrong-location return penalty;
  • key, keyless fob and remote control non-return penalties;
  • garage inspection, diagnostic, report and repair costs;
  • staff time, fuel, relocation mileage and vehicle operating wear;
  • speeding penalties under Section 13;
  • recovery, towing, storage and third-party costs;
  • administrative fees;
  • insurance excess / deductible;
  • loss of use.

7.2. A refundable deposit or pre-authorisation may be held as security and may be used to cover any unpaid amounts, penalties, damages, fines, fuel, cleaning, excess mileage, late return, recovery, insurance excess, loss of use, third-party charges or other amounts due under this Agreement.

7.3. If a breach, damage, accident, off-road event, prohibited area entry, missing item, late return or other risk occurs, Rentamania Ltd may place an additional security pre-authorisation until the Vehicle is returned, inspected and accepted.

7.4. Card-on-File / MIT. The renter authorises Rentamania Ltd to store and charge the payment card through Card-on-File and/or Merchant-Initiated Transactions for amounts due under this Agreement, including rental charges, contractual penalties, off-road penalties, prohibited area penalties, off-road distance charges, damage, fines, cleaning, fuel, excess mileage, late return fixed penalties, hourly late return charges, unapproved extension charges, unauthorised return charges, key/fob/remote non-return penalties, garage inspection, diagnostics and repairs, recovery, towing, staff time, relocation mileage, vehicle operating wear, loss of use, insurance excess, third-party invoices and administrative fees.

7.5. Existing posted rental payments are not affected by later adjustment invoices, damage invoices, penalty invoices, credit notes or refunds.

7.6. VAT / Taxes. Unless expressly stated otherwise, fixed fees and penalties stated in this Agreement are gross customer-payable amounts and include VAT where VAT is applicable. For repair costs, third-party invoices, replacement parts, recovery, towing, storage or other actual costs, VAT may be added or recovered where applicable under Cyprus law.

7.7. Overdue amounts may be recovered together with reasonable collection, legal, banking and administrative costs.

7.8. Goodwill Waiver / Discretion. Rentamania Ltd may, at its sole discretion, decide not to charge, reduce, or waive a penalty or cost in an individual case. Any such decision is a goodwill gesture only and does not create a right, precedent, waiver, amendment or expectation that the same approach will apply to any other case.

8. MINIMUM AGE AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTS

8.1. The minimum age for rental is 21 years unless otherwise approved by Rentamania Ltd.

8.2. A valid driving licence held for at least 2 years is required unless otherwise approved by Rentamania Ltd.

8.3. For scooters, motorcycles, mopeds or similar vehicles, the renter must hold the appropriate licence category required by law and must comply with all helmet and road safety rules.

8.4. Rentamania Ltd may refuse rental or terminate rental if licence information is false, incomplete, expired, invalid or not suitable for the rented vehicle.

9. RENTAL DURATION, EXTENSION, LATE RETURN AND EARLY RETURN

9.1. The minimum rental period is 24 hours unless otherwise agreed in writing by Rentamania Ltd.

9.2. Early return of the Vehicle does not entitle the renter to any refund, credit, discount or compensation unless expressly agreed in writing by Rentamania Ltd.

9.3. Extension Requests. If the renter wishes to extend the rental period, the renter must notify Rentamania Ltd at least 24 hours before the agreed return date and time.

9.4. A rental extension is valid only if it is expressly approved by Rentamania Ltd in writing and all additional rental charges, deposits, pre-authorisations or other required payments are completed before the original return time.

9.5. A request for extension does not automatically extend the rental. If Rentamania Ltd does not confirm the extension in writing, the Vehicle must be returned at the originally agreed return date, time and location.

9.6. Late Return Penalty. If the Vehicle is not physically returned to Rentamania Ltd at the agreed return date, time and location, an immediate contractual late return penalty of €100 applies.

9.7. In addition to the fixed late return penalty of €100, late return is charged at €20 per started hour from the agreed return time until the Vehicle, keys and documents are physically received, inspected and accepted by Rentamania Ltd or its authorised representative.

9.8. There is no automatic grace period. Any grace period, if offered, must be expressly confirmed in writing by Rentamania Ltd.

9.9. Leaving the Vehicle at any location other than the agreed return location does not stop late return charges. The Vehicle is considered returned only when it has been physically received, inspected and accepted by Rentamania Ltd or its authorised representative.

9.10. If the late return causes loss, cancellation, delay or disruption to another booking, customer delivery, vehicle preparation, airport transfer, hotel delivery, staff schedule or company operation, the renter shall also be liable for all resulting losses and costs, including but not limited to customer compensation, additional transport, staff time, recovery costs, loss of use and administrative expenses.

9.11. If the Vehicle is not returned after the agreed return time and no approved extension exists, Rentamania Ltd may treat the matter as unauthorised retention of the Vehicle, terminate the rental, charge all applicable penalties and costs, repossess or recover the Vehicle, and provide the Rental Agreement, GPS records and customer details to the police or other competent authorities if required.

9.12. Late return charges may be recovered from the deposit and/or charged through the signed Card-on-File / MIT authorisation.

10. AUTHORISED DRIVERS AND PROHIBITED USE

10.1. Only authorised drivers approved by Rentamania Ltd may drive the Vehicle.

10.2. No unauthorised person may drive the Vehicle under any circumstances.

10.3. The Vehicle must not be used:

  • for racing, drifting, rallying, speed testing or competitions;
  • for taxi, ride-share, delivery, courier or commercial use without written approval;
  • to tow or push any vehicle or object;
  • to carry more passengers than legally permitted;
  • to carry illegal goods, hazardous goods or excessive loads;
  • by any person under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication affecting driving ability;
  • outside the Republic of Cyprus controlled areas without written approval;
  • in Northern Cyprus or any occupied territory without written approval;
  • in breach of any law, traffic rule, insurance condition or this Agreement.

11. TERMINATION, REPOSSESSION AND SERIOUS BREACH

11.1. Rentamania Ltd may terminate the rental and repossess the Vehicle without refund if the renter breaches this Agreement, fails to pay, fails to complete deposit/pre-authorisation, uses the Vehicle unlawfully, drives off-road, enters a prohibited area, refuses return, abandons the Vehicle, allows unauthorised driving, fails to return keys, returns the Vehicle to a wrong location, or creates risk to the Vehicle or Rentamania Ltd.

11.2. Upon termination, the renter must immediately return the Vehicle to Rentamania Ltd or allow repossession.

11.3. Termination does not cancel the renter's liability for charges, penalties, damage, recovery, loss of use, fines, fees or any other amount due.

12. GPS / TELEMATICS MONITORING

12.1. For safety, compliance, insurance, operational and dispute-resolution reasons, all vehicles may be equipped with active GPS and telematics devices.

12.2. By signing the Agreement, accepting or using the Vehicle, the renter acknowledges that Rentamania Ltd may monitor:

  • vehicle location;
  • route history;
  • speed;
  • mileage;
  • stops and parking locations;
  • geofence entries;
  • prohibited area entries;
  • off-road / non-asphalt movement and distance;
  • wrong-location return or abandonment;
  • GPS device status and alerts;
  • driving behaviour relevant to contract compliance.

12.3. GPS and telematics data may be used to verify compliance with this Agreement, investigate accidents, locate the Vehicle, support recovery, identify prohibited use, calculate off-road distance, calculate excess mileage, confirm late return, confirm wrong-location return, enforce penalties, respond to chargebacks, handle complaints and provide evidence to insurers, banks, payment providers, courts, police or other competent authorities where required.

12.4. GPS evidence is admissible for enforcing contractual penalties, including off-road, prohibited area, territorial, speeding, late return, unauthorised return and unauthorised use violations.

13. SPEED LIMIT COMPLIANCE

13.1. The renter must comply with all posted speed limits and road traffic laws at all times.

13.2. Where GPS/telematics data indicates speeding, Rentamania Ltd may apply contractual penalties. These contractual penalties are independent of, and do not replace, any official fines or penalties imposed by authorities.

13.3. For the purposes of this Agreement, a "Speeding Incident" is a recorded event where the Vehicle exceeds the applicable speed limit by 10 km/h or more.

13.4. The contractual speeding penalty may be calculated as follows:

  • Up to 30% above the limit: approximately €2 per 1 km/h above the limit;
  • 31% to 50% above the limit: approximately €3 per 1 km/h above the limit;
  • 51% to 75% above the limit: approximately €5 per 1 km/h above the limit;
  • More than 75% above the limit: may be treated as a serious breach and may be reported to authorities.

13.5. Speeding penalties may be recovered from the deposit and/or charged via Card-on-File / MIT.

14. AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDING NOTICE

14.1. Customer interactions at the Rentamania Ltd office, service desk, vehicle handover area and return area may be audio and video recorded for security, fraud prevention, customer service, contract performance, dispute resolution and evidence purposes.

14.2. Recordings may be used in case of disputes, chargebacks, complaints, damage claims, insurance matters, legal claims, police matters or other proceedings.

14.3. Recordings are kept for a limited period unless required for a dispute, claim, chargeback, legal matter, insurance matter, police matter or other legitimate business purpose.

14.4. Data Controller: Rentamania Ltd. Contact: rentamaniacy@gmail.com.

15. DISPUTES, CHARGEBACKS AND EVIDENCE

15.1. If the renter initiates a chargeback, bank dispute, payment dispute, complaint or legal claim, Rentamania Ltd may provide relevant evidence to the bank, card issuer, payment processor, insurer, police, court, lawyer or competent authority.

15.2. Evidence may include the signed Agreement, reservation details, payment records, invoices, receipts, Card-on-File / MIT authorisation, GPS/telematics data, photographs, inspection sheets, videos, audio recordings, emails, WhatsApp messages, SMS messages, call records, customer communications and staff notes.

15.3. A refund, credit note, goodwill reduction or settlement offered by Rentamania Ltd does not waive the Company's rights unless expressly stated in writing.

16. MODIFICATIONS AND ENTIRE AGREEMENT

16.1. No clause in this Agreement may be altered except by written consent of Rentamania Ltd.

16.2. This Agreement, together with the reservation details, inspection records, signed authorisations, annexes and supplementary documents, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes prior discussions, communications or representations.

16.3. If any part of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
